Who is Ravel Morrison?

Ravel Morrison made his debut for Manchester United against Wolves in the Carling Cup on Tuesday.

Ravel is a Manchester lad, born in Wythenshawe and grew up in Longsight. There has already been a lot of hype about him. It has been claimed he is a better talent than Jack Wiltshire and Rodwell from Everton.

He is certainly one to keep an eye on and lets hope we see some more of him this season in the Carling Cup.

Michael Owen drops retirement hint

Michael Owen has stated that he would rather warm the bench at United than drop down and play for a lower league team. He is currently in the last year of a 2 year contract and nothing has been mentioned regarding a new deal.

“I won’t drop down the leagues and whether I would even want to drop down to a poorer Premier League team … I don’t know,” he told the Guardian. “Yes, I could score goals, but I would probably get less opportunities and less enjoyment. I think I’d rather play less and train with top players, rather than playing every minute of every game, getting three or four touches and not enjoying it.”

With Owen saying this, do you think he will retire at the end of the season if hes not offered a new contract?

Hernandez the goal hero!

Hernandez has made quite an impact since arriving at Manchester United in the summer.

Alex Ferguson had nothing but praise for the Striker:

“He was absolutely brilliant – it was a magnificent goal. He’s shaped to shoot, dummied the defender and finished really well.”

“Javier is very professional, the first out on the training ground and the last one back in every day and he’s rightly getting a lot of praise for his goalscoring.”

He scored twice at Stoke at the weekend in a game that we nearly ended up drawing. See the goals below.

Would City welcome Rooney? Would United sell to City?

Would City welcome Rooney?

Well as i read today on a forum one member said “Loyalty means **** all nowadays in football” and hes right!

One of the main reasons City might want to sign Rooney is that it would weaken United as a team, as he is our star player. There seems to be a mixed opinion though as to whether Rooney signing for city would be a good thing.

He is also one of the best strikers in the world and I am sure most City fans would forget where he came from and be happy to see him in a City shirt (Partly just to annoy us United fans).

Would United sell to city?

Yes – It’s going to get us out of our debt.

No – this could start the shift in power over to the other side of Manchester……..

Lets not forget, Everton haveĀ  clause where they get 30% of any transfer so I bet they are hoping that Rooney goes to City.

Nani – his best skills/goals for United

With all the talk about Rooney this season I thought I would take time out to look at Nani. He is without a doubt the best player for us this season. Although I do worry how long it will be before he gets linked with a move to City, Barcelona or Madrid.

When he first signed for us he looked like a poor Ronaldo (and probably still is at the moment). He did far too much show boating without actually producing the quality crosses and set pieces that we expected.

However it now seems that Nani has settled in and had a brilliant end to last season and an amazing start to this one. Here is a video with some of his best stuff from last season:

Possible signings to replace Rooney? Torres? Benzema?

Ok, so it looks like Rooney will definately be leaving Manchester United in the January transfer window. But who will we be signing to replace him? We certainly should have the money after spending very little since Ronaldo moved to madrid (although i’m sure a hefty chunk of that went towards paying off some debts).

How much will we get for Rooney with his current form and attitude? I have heard from 25 million to 50 million and even more if City were to sign him.

Anyway here is a possible list of transfer targets along with some videos of the players that have been talked about over the last few seasons and recently.

Hargreaves is still injured

It seems there has been some confusion regarding Owen Hargreaves’ fitness. It now seems he has a different injury (although it is not serious)

“Owen is not ready. He is injured,” he told Key103. “He has missed training for the last few days.

“We are having difficulty with the doctor in Colorado coming out with statements that are not accurate.

“It is not fair to the player for him to say Owen is going to be playing tomorrow (against West Brom).

“It is ridiculous. I pick the team and I have been doing it for quite a while.

“We have this small interference, which is causing some confusion. He is out with a calf injury.”

Hargreaves to return against West Brom on Saturday

“Owen should play some part on Saturday,” the player’s knee surgeon Dr Richard Steadman told BBC Sport.

“Our physical therapist, Luke O’Brien, has been working very closely with United’s coaches on his rehab.”

The surgeon conceded: “It’s been a long road back and there have been some setbacks along the way.

“But I’ve got a lot of admiration for the way Owen has responded – he’s worked very hard and has never given up. Things are looking good for him now.”
